‘Etch’ is their first single for fierce panda
and profoundly well named it is
too
it being both edgy and itchy
propelled along by little more than Luke’s sturdy rhythm and Lucy’s half-sung / half-drawled vocals for the first 90 seconds. There’s a hint of an early PJ Harvey-style sullen grandeur to proceedings
and the shattered Banshees-esque guitar which crashes in around one minute 44 seconds really is a sound to behold.
