LEAONE (pronounced ‘Lee-own’) is a smouldering new talent from Beccles in Suffolk. Ostensibly one man with a deep rich vocal sound which has seen him described as the missing link between Leonard Cohen and Lana Del Ray ‘Fly My Swallow’ is Leaone’s third ever single following 2016’s lush lovelorn DIY (em)brace of ‘Young Green Eyes’ and ‘Goldtooth’.
Backed by live guitar drums keys and a multitude of symphonic effects Leaone eased into 2017 with a perfectly-balanced triplet of shows in Norwich Dalston and Stowmarket. He follows that trick with these single release shows here:

Produced by the singer himself and mixed by Jim Lowe (Stereophonics) Leaone wrote the elegant gallant ‘Fly My Swallow’ in his parent’s attic after a series of events (losing his girlfriend losing his job and getting mugged) led him back home to his native East Anglia. But don’t think these losses make Leaone a loser – ‘Fly My Swallow’ might wallow in misery but the muscular melodies suggest a redemptive tone.
Following live shows with the likes of Emmy The Great Idlewild’s Roddy Woomble Wooden Arms Desperate Journalist and Animal Noise and bolstered by radio support from both BBC Introducing Norfolk AND Suffolk Leaone is now prepping for the release of a full fat four-track EP release on fierce panda in the spring.
Intriguingly in an interview with M Magazine late last year when asked why music was important Leaone replied: “Because it helps to contain my madness”. Something quietly sensational this way comes…
