** ASH HEAD BACK TO THEIR ROOTS FOR INDEPENDENT VENUE WEEK! ** ** NORTHERN IRISH NOISENIKS HIT THE OH YEAH CENTRE ON JANUARY 29TH! ** Tumultuous alt.rock trio ASH have announced a thrilling kind of homecoming as they play a very special underplay show at the Oh Yeah Music Centre in Belfast. The gig kicks off the 2024 edition of Independent Venue Week and limited tickets are available from here: gigantic.com/ash-tickets/belfast-oh-yeah-centre/2024-01-29-20-00 The IVW appearance follows smokingly hot on the heels of touring activity for the 'Race The Night' album, which was released on September 15th and hit number 14 in the Pop Parade. There was an instore tour, a jaunt around the UK and Europe with The Subways and a victory lap of Ireland just before Christmas, rounded off by a Yuletide special headline at Belfast Ulster Hall. Ash have also shared a special radio edit of 'Oslo', another glimpse into the variety and depth that their hit album album 'Race The Night' holds. The full cosmic album version now comes armed with an excellent video which sees Dutch guest vocalist Demira deliver her love from Amsterdam while singer Tim Wheeler wheels around Highbury Fields looking suitably forlorn. See the video here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lW7MpxBWqK0 The epic and passionate 'Oslo' track lines up next to previous album cuts ‘Race The Night’, ‘Like A God’, and 'Usual Places', all songs which are super-charged, widescreen and with melodies to spare. Already winning consistent support across BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 2 and Absolute Radio, these tracks bring with them what lead singer and guitarist Tim Wheeler describes as "the sound of the band reveling in the sheer joy of being a band after being separated by time and distance through the insanity of the early 2020s." That sound is encapsulated most excellently in 'Crashed Out Wasted', a track of such passionate epicness it features a gigantic axe workout from Tim. Fittingly, 'Crashed Out Wasted' has received the full cinematic treatment with a pranged plane, dubious business dealings and the Ash cats giving it their full action shot poses.
