* OH MY TOASTED MUFFINS IT’S... DAY FIVE OF PANDAMONIUM '17! * * ALMA + WOODEN ARMS + A LILY BRING THE HUSHED ANTI-NOISE… * * …ON TUESDAY JANUARY 10TH 2017! * It's as traditional as burst pipes, bulging waistlines and busted bank accounts, and it's heading back to kick off 2017. Every year fierce panda records joins furces with friends Club Fandango and Disorder Promotions to shake off the lost pine needles of Christmastime with a slew of new bands for the New Year under the Pandamonium banner. Ipso facto, Pandamonium '17 runs from January 3rd to the 17th across various London venues and features excellent acts with exquisite names like NGOD, Coquin Migale, Easy Kill, October Drift, Big Tooth, Purs, Joey Fourr, Tear and Tall Tree 6ft Man, as you can see at www.clubfandango.co.uk/news.php?id=895 right now. Retox, not detox? Oh, go on then...
PANDAMONIUM ’17: DAY FIVE ALMA (onstage 10.15pm) are a post-rock duo propelled gently forwards by ambient loops, ghostly vocals and drifting guitar, as evinced by debut mini-album ‘Alma’ and recent companion-piece ‘Reworkings & Remixes’. Tonight is a special underplay show which brings to a close a hectic round of European dates. www.facebook.com/almatheband WOODEN ARMS (onstage 9.30pm) are from North London-via-Norwich and make lovely elegant neo-classical folkpop laced with sombre strings and supremely mournful musical outbursts. Tonight will perhaps be slightly more mournful than usual as they play a special stripped-back set. www.facebook.com/woodenarmsband A LILY (onstage 8.45pm) is the solo moniker for James Vella, also known as the frontman of Yndi Halda. His music is gently introspective and subtly comforting, as proven by his current ‘You And Me And Shadow Makes Three’ fierce panda singles club single. www.facebook.com/alilysings
