The Caress are an alternative three piece based in New Cross South East London comprising of brothers Tom Easton (guitar and vocals) Ben Easton (bass and vocals) & Sam Easton (drums and vocals). Formed in December 2015 their music is visceral and melodic with a quintessentially British charm. They mainly draw on influences such as Phil Spector's Wall of Sound 60s Girl Bands & 80s indie bands. Lyrically they try to find the beauty and intrigue in the mundane and grey through stories of youth sex naivety and loneliness.
Released on 25th August ‘You’re Always Miles Away’ is their first single via Fierce Panda Records taken from their debut EP ‘You Say I Kiss Like A Girl’ to be released on 15th September. Musically the track is a dreamy number with reverb drenched tambourine and hand-claps inspired by 60s and Northern Soul stompers with a strong rhythm section throughout and atmospheric guitars. Lyrically ‘You’re Always Miles Away’ was written about a vacant employee desperate to get away from the mundanity of her works and her surroundings in the checkouts and aisles of an anonymous British supermarket.
