Now that brand new tune has partnered with their first ever song, 'Cerebra', on super rare So Recordings x fierce panda 7" vinyl. This precedes the release of a brand new album - their fifth - as well as a mighty pawful of live dates which look like this:
Thurs 23 Feb 2023 | O2 Academy Leeds UK The new material finds Hundred Reasons on remarkably thunderous form. Their creative light undimmed by the gaping pause since 2007's 'Quick The Word, Sharp The Action' album (excepting the 2012 anniversary tour), the 'Glorious Sunset' single roars out from behind a deceptively electro intro, hectic and uplifting and storming along. It sets the agenda for the 'Glorious Sunset' album, out on February 24th 2023, and catches four-fifths of the original HR line-up in gnarly epic form. Colin Doran (vocals), Larry Hibbitt (guitar, vocals), Andy Bews (drums) and Andy Gilmour (bass, vocals, piano) are that fractured faction from 2000, the year when they thrust themselves onto the hyperrock scene with a punk rock work ethic, a heap of humungous metal melodies and, in 'EP One', an electrifying introduction which earned them Best New Band at the Kerrang! Awards and a deal with Columbia. 'Ideas Above Our Station' was the much-admired debut album in 2002, with 'Shatterproof Is Not A Challenge' hot on its tail two years later. The Columbia trail then ran cold, but V2 rocketed the band back into the fray with 'Kill Your Own' (2006) and 'Quick The Word...'. Along the way were festival appearances a'plenty, plus tours with the likes of Incubus, Muse, New Found Glory and Jimmy Eat World. There were also numbing major label politics playing out behind the scenes, not to mention the departure of guitarist Paul Townsend. Throw in the four albums in seven slamming years, and it's little wonder they needed a bit of a rest. Frantic music followers may care to note that the b-side of the super exclusive So x fierce panda 7" is 'Cerebra', originally on that debut 'EP One' from the year 2000, and marked down by label boss Simon Williams as his fave ever panda single in the new book 'Pandamonium! How Not To Run A Record Label', which is out right now. "This is the first song we ever wrote together so brings back a ton of memories," says singer Colin. "It was amazing when Fierce Panda came to us with the idea of re-releasing it with the song 'Glorious Sunset'. For us, it's like things have come full circle." |
