a densely fuzzy fierce panda one sheet The Band: THE SHATTERHEADS The Tune: 'JULIE I'M SURE' The Format: DIGITAL SINGLE The Release Date: OCTOBER 20TH 2022 The Digital Link: orcd.co/julie_im_sure The Truth: THE SHATTERHEADS consist of Philip Vaduva (vocals), Alexander Lindberg (drums), Sanna Nyman (bass), Joseph Jeppsson (guitar) and Carl Nilsson (guitar). They are from Malmo, in Sweden, and 'Julie I'm Sure' is their second release on fierce panda. If first single 'Friend With A Car' canoodled with classic Scandiepop, it being bouncy and cute with guitars crawling all over the Tambourine studio, then 'Julie I'm Sure' turns the moodlighting way down low. "I tried to kill myself so many times I got bored" shrugs singer Philip over a tetchy backbeat which collapses somewhere between the fuzzy insouciance of The Strokes and the dense intensity of The Maccabees, all wrapped up in two and-a-half minutes. 'Julie I'm Sure' is the second track to be taken from The Shatterheads' second album release, due in 2023. The first, 'The Shatterheads' appeared in 2020 and is an excellent Scandiepopping blast which sounds like 'Hawaii 5.0', Placebo and The Osmonds. But not at the same time. |
