a steamy fierce panda one sheet The Act: SCROUNGE The Release: 'THIS SUMMER'S BEEN LETHAL' The Format: DIGITAL SINGLE The Release Date: FEBRUARY 11TH 2022 The Digital Link: scrounge.bfan.link/this-summer-s-been-lethal The Truth: ‘This Summer's Been Lethal’ is the brand new single by sassy South London duo Scrounge, aka electric singing guitarist Lucy and hectic drummer Luke. This is their first single since 'Leaking Drains' came out February last year, and precedes a debut album release, due later in 2022. Rocketing by in two minutes four seconds, 'This Summer's Been Lethal' hits all the Scrounge sweaty sweet points, riddled with anxious guitars and piledriving rhythms which create an edgy, tetchy sonic youth club soundtrack. It looks in the mirror in the bathroom, and the mirror stares right back. Furiouser and furiouser... "‘This Summer’s Been Lethal’ is a retrospective track rooted in uncertainty, desperation and disappointment despite all the excitement of summer," Scrounge say. "Recorded on the hottest day of the year, we wanted to make something dismal yet danceable. With its pulsing drum patterns and ringing guitars, this track reminds the listener to persevere through the pessimism.” Scrounge's previous excursions into shattered sound have found fans far and wide, earning an X-posure Big One from John Kennedy with 'Badoom', a 6music Recommends Featured Artist slot from Steve Lamacq and radio play across the globe from US college radio to Double J in Australia.
After their sell-out show at Bermondsey Social Club on February 17th come feel the Scrounge burn at these shows here: "Together, Scrounge have an impressively full sound for just two people, melding punk thrash with edgy post-punk intensity to darkly engrossing effect." – Paste, Best Performances of SXSW 2021 "They channel the intensity of daily life." – The Line of Best Fit "See this band now." – Loud And Quiet |
