The Sort-of-Truth: CHILI PALMER is the proverbial enigma wrapped in a ball of dark, dark wool and locked in a box of maddening mystery. No gigs. No rules. No clues. Just two men and a clutch of amazing tunes.

What we do know is that ‘Chili Palmer’ is the first ever CHILI PALMER EP release. We know it features first two singles, ‘S.I.T.’ and ‘A.O.M.L.’, both sumptuously-delivered gumbos of soul and funk which nod admiringly at The Blackbyrds and Luther Vandross but bring a modern romantic zing to thoroughly aerate the hipster airwaves of today.

What we also know is that, like some groovy kind of lovelorn marriage of convenience, the musical relationship between the two shadowy protagonists behind the CHILI PALMER project has exploded into deliciously positive life in these desperately uncertain times. Final EP track ‘Unrequited’ captures that lockdowned spirit impeccably, it being a broken hyperballad which yearns for some happy fixing. “Smoky late nights, drinking too much / Feeling like a change is gonna come,” they emote, ever-hopeful even as the shadows lengthen.
