** NATIONAL SERVICE SERVE UP THIRD SINGLE! ** ** 'ISLANDER' LANDS ON APRIL 6TH! ** ** BORDERLINE SUPPORT HAPPENING MAY 10TH! ** A torrentially layered fierce panda one sheet The Band: NATIONAL SERVICE The Tunes: ‘ISLANDER' The Format: DIGITAL SINGLE The Label: fierce panda The Release Date: APRIL 6TH 2018 The Digital Link: smarturl.it/natserv_Islander The Truth: the militantly-named NATIONAL SERVICE are a four piece outfit from North London. They consist of Fintan Campbell (vocals / guitar), Daniel Hipkin (bass / vocals), Iain Kelly (guitar / vocals) and Matthew Alston (drums). 'Islander' is their third single release on fierce panda. As with their previous offerings, National Service deliver sharp, biting melancholia powered by delicate guitar work and tense, brooding drums. The verses gently ebb and flow with the reflections of a challenging modern life, while the choruses surge forward with torrential layered guitars, synths and beautiful choral vocals. 'Islander' follows in the gently ferocious footsteps of their brilliant debut release 'A Little More Time', which appeared as part of fierce panda's 2016 Singles Club. The similarly volatile follow-up 'Timid Kisses' came out last year to a chorus of approval from Steve Lamacq and was made the BBC 6Music Recommends Single Of The Week. We think that National Service create tense, tersely modern alt.rock nuggets which nod at the buoyancy of Wild Beasts and the restlessness of Radiohead while bursting into manic sonic life at the most unexpected moments. But don't take our word for it, come see National Service march onwards here:
