The Tracklisting: The iTunes Link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/cavalry/1093895700 “Delivers everything I come to expect from this band and more…Highly emotional, to the point where I get goosebumps listening to it.” Poppedmusic.co.uk Emerging outfit Cavalry unveil their their brand new debut EP See The Night Perform which is out on December 1st on fierce panda, and which follows hot on the smouldering heels of a mesmerising live session for BBC Introducing Liverpool. Consisting of four tracks produced by Darren Jones (The Maccabees, The Last Shadow Puppets, Bill Ryder-Jones), the ‘See The Night Perform’ EP sees the Liverpudlian combo explore the darkest recesses of the Cavalry mind, and boy do those recesses get gloomy. ‘Cabin’ is as shiny as the frownsome fivesome get, it being three-and-a-half minutes of richly broken melodies stretched over a hazily pounding soundscape which comes across a little bit like a really stoned Doves. Yet even when showcasing the track at www.atwoodmagazine.com/cabin-cavalry-premiere/ the blog still sought solace in the shadows, observing: “Cavalry evoke a fiery warmth through lush, emotive textures that dazzle and move us. Theirs is the sound of the eternal night – of candles that seem to burn forever; of intimate outpourings in unfamiliar places; of chance encounters filled with endless possibility…” Elsewhere on the EP, led by a bruising and intimate lead vocal, current single ‘Black’s dramatic, hallmark sound opens as a confessional kitchen-sink ballad before transcending into an instrumental storm and evolving into a psychedelic, arena-baiting breakdown. Previous Hype Machine smasheroonie ‘Heresy’ is typically lovely and yearning, while ‘A Little Rough’ is initially subdued and imbued with a spectacular sense of desolation before delivering a dazzlingly grand denouement. The band’s melodic style has already earned the backing of Huw Stephens (BBC Radio 1), Steve Lamacq and Tom Robinson (BBC 6 Music), whilst slots supporting acts including British Sea Power and Stephen Malkmus have honed their burgeoning live reputation. Rather handily, ‘See The Night Perform’ follows up last year’s double-hitter ‘Lucerne’ / ‘Everything’, which was released as part of fierce panda’s 2016 Singles Club. Now ‘See The Night Perform’ becomes the fifth of six releases as part of the panda’s 2017 EP Club which is backed by the wise musical owls at Arts Council England, joining the esteemed likes of Leaone, Ghost Suns, Fightmilk and The Caress along the way. The five-piece will be hitting the road in support of the ‘See The Night Perform’ EP release with these dates here:
