A blissed-out fierce panda one sheet The Act: ALPHADUKA The Release: ‘I’LL FOLLOW YOU’ / ‘VISION’ The Format: DOWNLOAD SINGLE The Label: fierce panda The Release Date: FEBRUARY 26TH 2016 The Truth: ALPHADUKA are a three-piece band-stroke-bowling team from London Town. They consist of Rob Fenner (vocals, guitar), Ben Andrewes (drums, vocals) and Michael Webb (bass) and ‘I’ll Follow You’ is their first release. Not only that, but ‘I’ll Follow You’ is also the first release as part of the brand new ‘fierce panda: singles ’16’ project. Alternatively, in their own words: “Three-piece London outfit Alphaduka met at Teddington secondary school and formed after studying music and record production respectively in Leeds and Bristol. They began to develop their colourful sound, producing their own records in their Peckham flat-turned-studio and played their first gig in May 2015. With influences drawn from the retro-psych of Pink Floyd to the intricate guitars of John Martyn, Alphaduka play vibrant, sparkling alt rock.” That much is true. What is also very true is that in fine indiepop fashion the furry panda ears have been attracted to recent east end Alphaduka shows from the Sebright Arms to the Shacklewell Arms by Rob’s blue guitar gently nodding at various mid-‘80s underground glories such as Prefab Sprout, The Railway Children and Aztec Camera. That makes us very happy, and you can hear those guitar-based glories at these shows here:
FEBRUARY 11TH:
MARCH 11TH: What makes us happier still is that Alphaduka hereby become the first release as part of the ‘fierce panda: singles ’16’ project, which will see another eleven new acts each release a new single per month through the year. In a sizzlingly similar vein throughout 2015 the UK’s most dishevelled indie label released a new single by a new act each month on download and beermat (beermat!!!), ending up with 24 ace tunes by 12 ace acts with names like Fake Laugh, Doe, Whistlejacket, Albert Gold, Etches and ALMA, all with the charming fiscal support of Arts Council England. You can hear the gently raucous results of the ‘fierce panda: singles ‘15’ project here: HERE |
