DINGUS KHAN (onstage 9.45pm) are fast turning into everybody’s favourite sixteen-legged psychmetalpop groove machine. The Manningtree, Essex eight-piece released the deluxe version of their immense ‘Support Mistley Swans’ album earlier this year on fierce panda and have been described as representing the missing link between Blur and Frank Zappa & The Mothers Of Invention. TRAMPOLENE (onstage 9.00pm) are three Swansea boys decamped to North London and derailed by a trainwreck of a rock’n’rolling noise which spews forth riffitude and attitude in spades. Expect a new single, ‘My Bourgeousie Girl’, on Mi7 records on November 25th.
MING CITY ROCKERS (onstage 8.15pm) hail from Immingham, somewhere near Grimsby. According to the AA travel guide it’s not that time forgot it – time never knew it was there. There are four of them. They listen to the Stooges, Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent and nothing else. They like three chords. Two they like even better. What’s wrong with the world can be put right with Ming City Rockers. |
