ART BRUT

A message from Art Brut: ?ìIt has come to my attention that some in the intersphere consider Art Brut to be less than politically minded. They are considered a party band, letting the events of the day wash over them like a drunk asleep in a sobering gutter. Well, I am here to tell you that our merry band are not so oblivious. The voice of todays youth has not gone unheard!! Therefore, in the spirit of occupation, Art Brut will be camping out in The Bull and Gate, Kentish Town on the 7th ‚ 8th December¬¶
We refuse to sit idly by and watch Club Fandango celebrate a birthday without a residency-size truckload of Art Brut fans causing chaos and booze fuelled funstruction.¬ù Read the rest of AB's cal l to arms here:

THE BRUTE CHORUS
www.myspace.com/thebrutechorus
Quiffed and moustachioed Vicars son James Steel (Vocals, Guitar and Harmonica), Cumbrian Nick Foots (Vocals, Guitar, Keyboard and Stuff), Hampshire country boy and son of a Dylan-fanatic Mark Austin (Vocals, Drums and Percussion), and Essex born Dave Ferrett (Vocals, Bass). The band all live together in Whitechapel, East London. Love, religion, fables, mythical beasts and the odd Greek Tragedy ‚ theyre all here. The Brute Chorus blend a writhing mix of pop, circus burlesque and, most noticeably, rockabilly that you will not be able to stop tapping your toes to. Its a fairy tale, a fable and a hoe-down! The Brutes recently recorded their second album in a freezing hall in the Lake District. The albumHow the Caged Bird Sings will be released very soon.

NO CARS
http://www.facebook.com/pages/No-Cars/226406527390081
In their own words ?ìNo Cars is three cute Jap-girls band, who get all music inspiration from food!! The stage is fun, kitsch, entertaining. They are like coming from Japanese school. The music is like punk-garage. It's like cheap version of Shonen Knife.¬ù

KEITH TOP OF THE POPS
www.myspace.com/itskeithtotp
One man backed by many... depending on who remembers to turn up. As a member of The Art Goblins, The Black Arts, The English Travelling Wilburys and approx 15 other bands, Keith has assembled a band with a line-up which is never the same from gig to gig. In the past, the band has featured members of (deep breath) Art Brut, Carter USM, Subliminal Girls, The Indelicates, The Bridport Dagger, David Devant & His Spirit Wife, The New Royal Family, Lets Wrestle, 1990s/Yummy Fur, The Fades, Popular Workshop, The Rocks, The Blood Arm and EVEN MORE.

"Daddy! Get me a Keith" Album of the month - 5/5 (Artrocker Magazine)

THE SHARP TONGUES
www.facebook.com/pages/The-Sharp-Tongues/106327699439367
Led by Canadian guitarist Julia Muth, The Sharp Tongues have been playing as a trio for less than a year and have already racked up some high praise and sweet support spots, including touring with Kitty, Daisy & Lewis throughout September. Their debut performance was received with much enthusiasm by the audience at British Sea Powers Tan Hill Festival, which they quickly followed with rapturous performances supporting US psych-noise duo Tweak Bird and the king of Alabama, Dan Sartain. Most recently they supported The Greenhornes (members of Raconteurs, Dead Weather) on a 6 date UK tour. Backed by twin brothers Stewart and Paul Summers (Ten Benson), on drums and bass respectively, The Sharp Tongues stripped down, intense songs pack a real punch.
