An elegantly shambolic fierce panda / Permanent Creeps one sheet The Band: PEEPING DREXELS The Track: 'I LIKE TRANSIT VANS' The Format: DIGITAL RELEASE The Impact Date: APRIL 26TH 2019 The Labels: FIERCE PANDA RECORDS / PERMANENT CREEPS RECORDS The Digital Link: smarturl.it/peepingdrexels_ep The Truth: PEEPING DREXELS are five reprobates who define themselves as "South London scum with sloppy beats and sleazy melodies". They consist of Dylan Coates (vocals), Joe Love (guitar / vocals), Jacob Bagshaw (guitar), Finton Hurst (bass) and Otis Hurst (drums), and late last year they released the caustically played and precisely named 'PEEPING DREXELS.' EP, from whence 'I Like Transit Vans' comes. The 'PEEPING DREXELS.' EP contains four tracks of fearsomely ambitious underground rock action with post-punk undertones ('Ray Purchase'), grumpy glam rock skirmishes ('Life Of Milo') and thunderously conceptual arthouse rock'n'roll madness ('The Hate'). In which case 'I Like Transit Vans' is the hypnotic calm amidst the sonic storm, a six minute saunter down a dark alleyway of despair with a hauntingly elegant undercurrent and a freakout fake ending four minutes in. In short, it is horribly lovely and lovingly horrific. Their notoriously chaotic live shows have left a trail of breathless destruction in Peeping Drexels' reckless wake, including memorable headlines at Bermondsey Social Club at the start of this year, plus Dalston Birthdays, Brixton Windmill and Brighton’s Green Door Store, with singer Dylan often performing masked for much of the set. MAY 10TH BRIGHTON THE GREAT ESCAPE The 'PEEPING DREXELS.' EP is a joint venture release between the indie stalwart fierce panda and perky young Permanent Creeps organisation. The EP is also the fourth release as part of The Second Fierce Panda EP Club, whereby six ace new acts release six ace new EPs throughout 2018. Jekyll, National Service, China Bears, VC Pines and Sad Boys Club are the other acts leaping into the EP abyss with the sweet support of Arts Council England. 'The 'Second Fierce Panda EP Club EP' compilation is released on March 29th 2019. CLASH Magazine: "Peeping Drexels have soaked up that signature South London sound into the roots of their music, and then distorted it, adding elements of grunge to create their own atmosphere of gritty doom.” The Metro: "Entertainingly ramshackle, grungily lunging, decidedly dark hybrid of garage-punk, skiffle and DIY art-pop.” So Young Magazine “For a band of discontented youths, Peeping Drexels wouldn’t be out of place sat next to more accomplished acts such as Iceage and Shame, ready-made for your road trip playlists or if you need a soundtrack to barge through the Tuesday commuters.”
