** IT’S LONDON CALLING FOR HACKNEY BOY ALBERT GOLD AS HE COVERS THE CLASH, BLUR AND COLDPLAY IN COVER VERSION GLORY! ** ** AND IT’S YOUR CHANCE TO INVEST IN A SLICE OF MUSIC INDUSTRY HISTORY! ** "There were blue skies in my city today..." Strong news, cockney flyboys and girls - Hackney-born and bred soul man Albert Gold, who has been stealthily moving through the London musical underground over the past few years with a string of excellent singles and EPs, is now turning to other people's songs about his magical home town with the imminent recording of the 'London Calling' covers EP. Those other people’s capital songs about the capital are by The Clash, Blur and Coldplay. Albert and musical partner Conor Quinlan will be creating stripped-back versions of ex-UCL students Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’, the video for which sees Chris Martin prowling the streets of the South Bank, plus Blur’s loving tribute to West London, ‘Under The Westway’, plus – of course – The Clash classic which gives the EP its name, ‘London Calling’. The three covers will be recorded over a two day period this year in Love Electric Studios in North London and you can be part of this recording process by becoming an active actual investor in the Songbook project which aims to raise funds for the recordings, thereby claiming a share of ongoing royalties and synch-related revenues from the release. Go investigate and then quite possibly invest what-you-like* in the 'London Calling' EP project over here: https://songbook.social/discover/artist-campaign/view/london-calling (*Bonus fact: it if you invest £35.00 or more then upon release in early 2019 you'll even get a special limited edition 'London Calling' EP 7" with your name handsomely listed on the sleeve. Boom! Etcetera). Albert Gold has lived in Hackney, East London, all of his life. Over the past few years he has released excellent singles with names like ‘Don’t Let Me Go’ and ‘Handcuffs’ and over the past 12 months he has produced two fine EPs for fierce panda, those EPs being called ‘Oxygen’ and ‘Second’. He has also played live at various fine London venues such as The Lexington, The Sebright Arms, The Victoria, The Waiting Room, The Islington and Birthdays for promoting tykes Vice, Club Fandango, Communion, Londoninstereo and oodles more.
One day a couple of years ago he made it across the border and up the A12 to make a video at Felixstowe in Suffolk. That video was for the track ‘Into The Wild’, and that video lives here:
