** Peeping Drexels Sell 'Ray Purchase'! **
** Toasty New Single Out Now, EP Coming 30.11.18! ** The Band: PEEPING DREXELS The Track: 'RAY PURCHASE' The Format: DIGITAL / COMPACT DISC SINGLE The Release Date: OUT NOW The Labels: FIERCE PANDA RECORDS / PERMANENT CREEPS RECORDS The Truth: PEEPING DREXELS are five reprobates who define themselves as "South London scum with sloppy beats and sleazy melodies". They consist of Dylan Coates (vocals), Joe Love (guitar / vocals), Jacob Bagshaw (guitar), Finton Hurst (bass) and Otis Hurst (drums), and 'Toast Of London' fankids will be delighted to hear that the quintet's rampantly ramshackle single is a paean to the painful turtlenecks of one 'Ray Purchase'. Honoured by being anointed Steve Lamacq's Livener on BBC 6music the 'Ray Purchase' single precedes a four track EP called - very specifically - 'PEEPING DREXELS.' which is released on November 30th. The P-Drex band have also announced this special headline show here:
Parallel Lines present Steve Lamacq (BBC 6 MUSIC) “A band I immediately like...” Since causing a stir with 2017’s 'The Goof' as well as recent banger 'Bills Drift', Peeping Drexels have picked up national airplay thanks to 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq, shared the stage with bands such as Fat White Family, Shame, Hotel Lux, Meatraffle, Phobophobes and LICE (to name but a few), as well as packed out their first ever European headline in Leffinge, Belgium. Their notoriously chaotic live shows have left a trail of breathless destruction in Peeping Drexels' reckless wake, including memorable headlines at London’s Sebright Arms, Dalston Birthdays, Brixton Windmill and Brighton’s Green Door Store, with singer Dylan often performing masked for much of the set. Of course. 'Ray Purchase' is a joint venture release between the indie stalwart fierce panda and perky young Permanent Creeps labels. Peeping Drexels themselves are managed by London based independent label/management/live night & all-round alternative music champion Permanent Creeps, who are fast building one of the most exciting rosters in new music and seem primed to establish themselves as one of the UK’s most exciting purveyors of alternative music. CLASH Magazine "Peeping Drexels have soaked up that signature South London sound into the roots of their music, and then distorted it, adding elements of grunge to create their own atmosphere of gritty doom.” The Metro "Entertainingly ramshackle, grungily lunging, decidedly dark hybrid of garage-punk, skiffle and DIY art-pop.” So Young Magazine “For a band of discontented youths, Peeping Drexels wouldn’t be out of place sat next to more accomplished acts such as Iceage and Shame, ready-made for your road trip playlists or if you need a soundtrack to barge through the Tuesday commuters.”
