** LEAONE IS A 'LIVEWIRE'! ** ** SMOULDERING NEW SINGLE OUT 29.09! ** A louchely debonair fierce panda one sheet The Act: LEAONE The Tune: ‘LIVEWIRE’ The Format: DIGITAL SINGLE The Release Date: SEPTEMBER 29TH 2017 The Label: FIERCE PANDA The iTunes Link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/livewire/id1279774535?i=1279775082 The Truth: LEAONE (pronounced ‘Lee-own’) is still very much a brooding crooner from Beccles in Suffolk with a solemn, slow-moving sound which has seen him compared to the languid likes of Leonard Cohen and Lana Del Ray. ‘Livewire’ is his brand new single which follows hot on the hooves of his summertime radio hit ‘End Of The World’, and he plays these shows to coincide:
SEPTEMBER 28TH NORWICH The Owl Sanctuary Underpinned by a pained piano and augmented by the saddest trumpet this side of a heartbroken brass band ‘Livewire’ is fittingly seen by its creator as “ultimately an apology for my sometimes fiery temper and a confession of my ongoing love.” Better still, ‘Livewire’ came to life in a studio in Mile End with Black Butter records’ Peter Jarrett (Betsy, Lao Ra). “It was the first song I'd ever worked on with anybody else, so it was exciting!,” beams Leaone from the depths of a tragimelodic fug. “I remember ‘Livewire’ came together so fast, and it was nice to have someone else on production duties as I didn't have time to scrutinise every little detail like I usually do - everything was knocked out in one take and that's how it remained. Once I took the song home I was very fortunate to get the amazing Brisbane-based artist Leo Altarelli to lay down some trumpet parts on his fleeting visit back to Suffolk, and I shouldn’t forget Andrew Culham, who recorded some beautiful fretless bass parts remotely at his home in Ipswich.” Following the release of his ‘Oh, My Sweetest Sin’ EP in the spring and live shows with the likes of Emmy The Great, Roddy Woomble, Wooden Arms, Desperate Journalist and Animal Noise, and bolstered by radio support from Steve Lamacq, Huw Stephens and both BBC Introducing Norfolk AND Suffolk Leaone is now prepping for a second EP entitled ‘Wild Horse Ride On’, which will appear on October 13th with the smooth support of Arts Council England. Intriguingly, in an interview with M Magazine late last year, when asked why music was important Leaone replied: “Because it helps to contain my madness”. A ‘Livewire’ to the end… |
