** THE RAVEONETTES ANNOUNCE A BIG NIGHT OUT! ** ** IN BIG OLD LONDON TOWN!! **BR> ** ON TUESDAY OCTOBER 6TH 2009!!! ** Scuzzrocketpopsters THE RAVEONETTES have announced a Big Night Out in London on Tuesday October 6th to celebrate the release of their fourth album, In And Out Of Control, released the day before on October 5th. The dream-struck duo will be playing a special free acoustic in store show at Rough Trade East in Shoreditch in the early evening, then hosting their own night of entertainment across town at the Buffalo Bar in Highbury. And by hosting we mean that The Raveonettes have chosen the bands, handpicked the DJs and will be spinning some platters-that-matter themselves during the evening. Not only that, but in between the live sets from The Tamborines and Experiment On A Bird In The Air Pump there will be a full and uninterrupted playback of the In And Out Of Control album ‚ already widely perceived to be The Raveonettes most perfectly fulfilled and pop-tastic album yet - in all its 37-minutes-and-eleven-seconds glory. The last time The Raveonettes were in town they played a fearsomely intimate sold out show at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen in September. In true rocknroll style (and The Raveonettes are nothing if not rocknrollers with style) this time around Sune and Sharin will be flying into the UK on the morning of October 6th from Mexico City, where they will be supporting Depeche Mode the day before. Then the entertainment unfurls like this:
6.30PM ROUGH TRADE EAST INSTORE The Raveonettes acoustic set
8.00PM CLUB FANDANGO AND THE RAVEONETTES PRESENT: THE TAMBORINES (onstage 10.10pm) are buzzy fuzzed-up guitarpop beasts whove been ruffling feathers on the London underground all year, not least with their strobe-crazed support to The Ruling Class at the 100 Club in the summer. AN EXPERIMENT ON A BIRD IN THE AIR PUMP (onstage 9.00pm) are three women creating music in their own unique way. Two bass guitars? Why not. Minimal drums played standing up? OK. Instrument swapping? A core essence. Having released their debut These Sins EP late last year The Birds have recorded the follow-up EP with Tim Burgess, which will be out on November 16th and they release their debut album ‚ recorded during the summer with Steve Albini in the summer ‚ in 2010.
THE RAVEONETTES, panda label mates HATCHAM SOCIAL, PIXZINE starlets Princess Julia and Hanna Hanra and esteemed Wrexham gigsters DONT DIE JUST YET! will all be providing the musical sustenance between and after the bands. |
