a furiously milky fierce panda one sheet The Band: BAG OF CANS The Release: 'MILK AND MORE' The Format: DIGITAL SINGLE The Release Date: MAY 25TH 2023 The Digital Link: orcd.co/milkandmore The Truth: once contenders for the crown of "the least self-conscious band in Norwich", and now challenging for the title of "the actual biggest new band from Norwich, actually", Bag Of Cans consist of George Baker (vocals / trumpet), George Bryce (guitar / vocals), Tom McGhie (guitar), Sam Watts (bass) and Joe Wilson (drums). The quintet are poised to spread the thundering musical love far and beyond East Anglia with the release of live fave rave 'Milk And More' on May 25th. 'Milk And More' follows the panda singles 'Hostage At The Dinner Table', 'Pub Money' and the Yuletide smash 'I'm Sorry Mum That I Was Hungover This Christmas'. These tracks, like so many more, will be appearing on Bag Of Cans' debut album, 'We Are A Band', which is released on beer-coloured vinyl on June 9th with a launch party at the local Arts Centre occurring on the same night. 'Milk And More' also fulfils the raucous Bag Of Cans conceptual remit, it being pithy and theatrical and dark and very, very unhinged. Benny Hill's 'Ernie (The Fastest Milkman In The West)' redesigned for the snowflake generation by some mad superdrunk supergrouping combo of Blur, Dingus Khan and Serious Drinking? Quite definitely possibly. Or, in their own glorious words... 6 am. The sun peeps around the curtain and you stretch like a cat into the day. And what a glorious day indeed. “It’s milk time, baby.” With an exuberant spring in your step, you pick out a pristine white smock from one of the 80 in the wardrobe and dance down the stairs towards your milkcart. You love these early mornings. Coldplay’s 'Yellow' oozes out of the boombox strapped to the back of the float as you cruise round the empty suburbs. A grin meanders onto your windswept face while milk bottles are distributed amongst the town. As the shift stretches on, the neighbourhood stirs and a melody appears on the breeze. Soft at first, it heaves towards a crescendo as subjects of your milky kingdom take up the tune. You find yourself joining in: God bless the beloved milkman. The artful, glorious, bountiful milkman. Forever shall we bathe in his dairy. With a final kiss blown to an admiring face through their window, your work is complete and you light a cigar, leaning on your cart. Oncoming traffic has to stop because you’ve parked sideways but it's OK, they’re lucky to glimpse at their hero. Horns start to glare alongside raised voices, but there’s no need to rush. You smile and wave at your adoring vassals, before hopping back behind the wheel and venturing homeward, drinking in the applause. A milkman's work is never done. “Milk and more. Milk and more.”
