Welcome to the first ever post of the Fierce Panda Singles Club blog! A place where you can hear new music that has moved us in such a way that it makes us want to share it with you. Last year we released 12 new singles with 12 new acts as part of Fierce Panda Singles ’15, and we’re repeating the trick this year with another batch for you!
Kicking it all off for us is Alphaduka, who recently dazzled us with an array of shimmery guitar mastery delivered on an arsenal of blue guitars at the Sebright Arms. The band describe ‘I’ll Follow You’ as a “dark, sparkly love song” and we found it endlessly floating into our heads like an icy breeze.
Alphaduka deliver their brand of alt-rock glittering and draped in dazzling guitar lines that nod to the intricate styles of John Martyn, but also remind us of 80’s diamonds, Prefab Sprout and underground gems like Aztec Camera and The Railway Children. And given that their Peckham flat was transformed into a studio we can expect more shimmering wonders to come from Alphaduka in the very near future.
Alphaduka play The Old Blue Last w/ Easy Kill on March 11th and you can pick up the single digitally from iTunes
